Night Sky With Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong
A recipient of a MacArthur Genius Grant, Ocean Vuong was born on a rice farm outside Saigon in 1988. He spent a year at refugee camp in the Philippines before settling in the United States at the age of two. This is his debut full-length collection of poems, released in 2016.
Reading Vuong is like watching a fish move: he manages the varied currents of English with muscled intuition....His lines are both long and short, his pose narrative and lyric, his diction formal and insouciant. From the outside, Vuong has fashioned a poetry of inclusion."--The New Yorker
