These socks are named after our dear friend Pierluigi, a spiffy Italian who owned one of the best shirt factories in Italy. Pierluigi confided that he wore only one type of socks since he was a boy -- ribbed burgundy socks he bought from a neighbor who made hosiery (how great is Florence?!)
